Bill Nelson

Organizer of Random Thoughts and Erratic Activity

The son of a retired casino executive and a legal secretary, Bill was born at St Mary’s and grew up in Washoe Valley. He attended private school in Carson City and graduated with honors from Galena High School. A true Nevadan, Bill graduated from UNR with a degree in Computer Science and a minor in mathematics.

Right out of college, Bill began a 15-year career with IGT, where he developed many multi-million dollar game systems, implemented cost-saving measures that will save the company hundreds of thousands of dollars per year, and worked with acquisitions to combine diverse computer ecosystems. Bill holds a patent for the creation of an investigative tool to discover faults in gaming machines.

Bill joined the Olson Group on January 1, 2018, and immediately took control of, and greatly expanded, the Group’s online presence. He is instrumental in the development and deployment of industry-leading advertising strategies, AI-based client interface systems, and database and contact management.
